Honda cites quality control over Quality Street ban

Staff at Swindon's Honda factory say they have been banned from eating cakes, fruit and certain chocolates in their break rooms due to a quality control issue.
Any chocolate bars that contain biscuit are similarly banned, meaning the likes of Twix, Clubs, Viscounts, Yo-Yos, Jaffa Cakes and Breakaways are banned while the likes of Mars Bars, Bounty bars and Snickers are acceptable. The crossover Crunchie bar - which does not feature any biscuit but contains biscuity honeycomb.
Staff and unions are pondering the ban with bewilderment and considering whether to take action on the issue.
Honda has indicated that the matter is a quality control issue, and necessary to produce models to the highest standards.
Additionally, workers are not allowed to take bottled water into production areas, or keep mobile phones with them for emergencies.
Honda employs over 4,000 people at the Swindon plant, which makes the Civic.
"Frankly they've lost the plot," commented a Unite union representative.
