A box of Motability delights awaits Materia owners
Published: 01 April 2008
The Daihatsu Materia is now included in the UK's Motability scheme, available in manual guise for no prior payment.
It means anyone who receives the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance can use their allowance on a new Materia on the Motability Scheme.
As part of the deal, Mobility holders find their weekly allowances will cover the leasing of a brand new Daihatsu Materia every three years, and for added peace of mind they needn't worry about insurance, service and maintenance, full breakdown assistance or even tyre and windscreen replacement, as this is all taken care of.
The 1.5-litre Materia is by anyone's estimations both wide and squat - boasting statuesque and broad opening doors – and offers improved accessibility for those with reduced agility issues.
Owners of the Japanese compact car are met with 619 litres of square-dimensioned load space once the rear seats become horizontal to the floor, or 294 cubic litres with the seats up.
Standard equipment levels consist of as air-con, all-round automated windows, alloy wheels, front fogs and a CD tuner with a sextuplet of speakers, as well as driver, passenger and side airbags.
Becoming a hit with buyers who receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, Daihatsu has experienced a 100% increase in Motability trade over the past 12 months, and are on target to achieve sales totaling almost 500 units by the close of 2008's business.
Over 7% of new car sales in the UK are signed up to the Motability scheme.
