Clarkson yesterday, railing against nanny states and speed limits

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson may be in trouble, after allegedly being snapped driving and talking on a mobile phone.
Two members of the public claim to have seen Clarkson using a hand-held mobile phone while driving at 70mph on a motorway in Oxfordshire.
The couple handed the photo to the Daily Mirror, who passed the picture the police. Driving a car while using a hand-held mobile phone incurs a three-point endorsement on a licence and a fine of £60. A conviction for dangerous could theoretically lead to two years in prison, a road ban and a larger fine.
Research indicates you're four times more likely to crash while driving if using a hand-held mobile phone.
Clarkson was allegedly driving a 1970s 6.3-litre left-hand drive V8 600 Grosser Mercedes at the time the photo was taken.
Clarkson denied that he had been talking on a mobile when confronted by the Daily Mirror, but when shown the photo commented: 'Er, that's not a phone.'
Thames Valley Police are said to be investigating the matter with a view to prosecution.
The latest incident is the fourth in recent months involving Clarkson and the authorities. The Top Gear spleen-venter escaped a speeding conviction after the authrotiries failed to prove Clarkson was driving an Alfa Brera at 82mph; he and James May were investigated for smoking in a public building after lighting up Porsche pipes; and Clarkson was involved in a scuffle with youths outside a leisure centre.
