Subaru debuts all-new Forester SUV

Subaru will display its all-new Forester SUV at the Geneva Motor Show, along with Legacy and Outback models equipped with diesel boxer engines and two electric vehicles.
The new Forester is based on the same platform as the new Impreza, and features improved ride and handling thanks to a new multi-link double-wishbone rear suspension, says Subaru.
The new Forester will be on sale in the UK from April with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. A 2.0-litre boxer diesel engine option through a manual gearbox follows in autumn.

The world’s first boxer diesel-engined passenger car in the form of the Legacy saloon and Sports Tourer and Outback crossover will also be on display in Geneva.
On sale in the UK this spring, Subaru’s first diesel promises smoothness, refinement, petrol-like throttle- response and torquey power delivery.
The new 2.0 litre horizontally-opposed turbo-diesel records almost 50mpg on the combined cycle with 151g/km CO2 for the Sports Tourer.

Finally Subaru will display the R1e electric city commuter, which recently underwent trials in London. The car can be fully charged in eight hours from a standard domestic current with 80 per cent recharge in 15 minutes.
Also being exhibited is the Subaru G4e Concept - a five-seater supermini powered by lithium-ion high- performance batteries stored under the floor and giving a 200 kilometre range.
