New Chevrolet Epica petrol V6 from £13,595

The Chevrolet Epica saloon will be available to buy from April from £13,595, marking the American brand´s first effort into the competitive family saloon market.

The Epica is powered by a 2.0-litre V6 petrol engine - the cheapest V6 on the market according to Chevrolet - while the diesel option is a 148bhp 2.0-litre block with an automatic transmission available.

Two trim levels will be available with each engine, with standard LS trim including air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, a CD-stereo with MP3 input socket, 16-inch alloy wheels, front, side and curtain airbags and power-adjustable mirrors.

The higher LT specification adds electronic climate control, rear parking sensors, leather seat trim, heated front seats, rain sensitive wipers, a CD autochanger, electrochromatic rear view mirror, power-adjustable driver’s seat, trip computer, electronic stability control and 17-inch alloys.

The LS diesel is available from £14,595, while LT models will be diesel only and will cost £16,595 with a five-speed manual gearbox, or £17,695 as an automatic.

Chevrolet recently released the Captiva SUV and will introduce the new Aveo supermini in May 2008.
