The ICE pack in the Lexus RX
Published: 29 February 2008
Lexus is turning up the heat on its SUV rivals by offering buyers of its luxurious RX range its coolest ICE pack yet.
The optional twin set multimedia system brings new age sights and sounds into the realms of the entire on board family for £2,200 on Lexus RX's where it's not already standard furnishing.
Ruling out the SE-L versions of the RX 350 and RX400h, two svelte tablets of premium kit is anchored to the rear of the front seats, in each case comprising of an eight-inch VWGA screen with integrated side-loading DVD player and USB 2.0 SD Card readers.
The facility for these screens to be activated in tandem or independently of one another ensures rear-seat occupants should remain cool headed for the most part.
Eradicating screen judder should the RX encounter hostile surfaces, the large screen is said to afford a wider viewing perspective for rear occupants. Two sets of infrared headphones designed with children's smaller proportioned ears in mind have had their receptiveness to signals heightened and are now collapsible for ease of storage.
Command of both multimedia portals is engaged either manually by way of the tablet, or remotely via an equally slimline hand held controller, and are configured with RCA outputs that allow compatible gaming, video and music connectivity and access.
Homogeneous technological formats include; DVD playback 4.3 and 1.69, MPEG 2 and 4, MP3 CD, MP3 DVD, Photo CD JPEG and Super Video CD.

Euro Car Parts has acquired Pinco 1555 Ltd, including all 53 of LSUK's 53 branches, together with subsidiaries M I Diesel Products, Protech Automotive (UK) and Yeovil Rewind.

Fuel protests similar to those that brought the UK to a halt in 2000 are being planned by a breakaway group of disaffected hauliers, according to press reports.

Euro Car Parts has put out a statement on the closure of LSUK, stating that a closure of the business was unavoidable due to a 'lack of support'.

LSUK, thought to have been rescused by Euro Car Parts, has been unexpectedly closed by the new owners with the loss of over 600 jobs.
