The advert for the 2008 Ford Focus will feature an orchestra playing instruments created solely from car parts.
The new advert will air from 4 February and shows the orchestra playing instruments fashioned from 21 parts of a 5-door Focus.
The music is the work of Hollywood film composer Craig Richey and New York sound designer Bill Milbrodt. Milbrodt’s team took apart a Ford Focus five-door hatchback that had, literally, just come off the production line.
“When we got it to the mechanics shop, it had less than a mile on the clock. We took the doors and fenders off, but we had the body shell intact and we later cut out of that the parts we wanted,” said Bill Milbrodt.
Milbrodt’s team had constructed 31 instruments, including a Transmission Case Cello-Dulcimer, Clutch Guitar, Rear Suspension Spike Fiddle, Fender Bass, Hatchback Kick Drum, Handheld Gear Tambourine and Door Harp.

I really love this ad.Is the like a full song too it cause I want it.Love the music.
Does the musical composition have a name please
Love the music, very cleverly done, hope they bring out a full recording on CD
Although the music is an original composition, it is quite similar to the Danse Macabre from Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals. It might be worth checking that out if they don´t release a full version
do the instruments really play ?
Anybody know the orchestra members. The guitarist looks familiar but I can´t put a name to the face.
I also want to know the guitarist, suggestions include Mike Rutherford (no chance) and Billy Connolly?????
Can I have a copy of the score?
I thought I recognized it, it is the theme music used on Jonathan Creek, an adaptation of the 'Danse Macabre'.
