Jaguar XJ named ´Most beautiful luxury saloon´

The Jaguar XJ HAS beaten BMW, Mercedes and Audi to win the annual Design Award ‘Autonis” in the luxury category of the German car magazine Auto Motor und Sport. 16,000 readers of the magazine voted for the most beautiful cars from eight different categories. Ian Callum, Jaguar’s Design Director commented,
"I am delighted the XJ has won this award in Germany. The face-lifted car combines the beauty of the traditional with the confidence of the present and it clearly maintains the elegance for which Jaguar is renowned."
Jaguar’s Global marketing Director CJ O’Donnell said:
"This is a great achievement for the XJ to come out on top over our German competitors. The new XJ for 2008 Model Year represents the evolution of the model’s elegant styling and it’s great to see the German market respond so favourably to the fresh new face of our flagship model."The XJ is already known for its all-aluminium body construction, state-of-the-art technologies and outstanding craftsmanship and build quality, but with a more modern, assured and sporting appearance the new Jaguar XJ is even more confident. Revised upper and lower mesh grilles which have chromed detailing are set into the new front bumper, accentuating the car’s air intakes. Two power vents, which match those introduced on the beautiful new XK sports car and are behind the front wheels, have new door mirrors, above which carry integrated indicator lights. The rear end is reworked and displays a newly reshaped bumper, a subtle aero spoiler and revised tailpipe finishers.
