Citroen C-Crosser prices, on sale July

The Citroen C-Crosser will be available to buy in the UK from July.

The C-Crosser 4x4 will be available from £22,790 for the VTR+ and £25,490 for the Exclusive trim. Standard trim includes six airbags, an alarm, automatic headlamps, sliding and reclining second row seats, ABS, ESP, cruise control and automatic air conditioning.

Citroen says the C-Crosser engine and design has been engineered to be the acceptable face of SUVs, with non-aggressive styling and a ‘responsible’ engine.

A 2.2HDi diesel engine is capable of close to 40mpg on the combined cycleand emits 191g/km, according to Citroen, and can run on 30% bio-diesel without modification to the system.

A Diesel Particulate Filter System reduces particulate matter to ‘near immeasurable quantities’.

The 156bhp engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and produces 280 lb-ft of torque at 2000rpm, powering the C-Crosser on to a top speed of 124mph, and a 0-62mph sprint in under 10 seconds.

A 5+2 seating system can be configured as three rows of seats, or the two rear benches can be folded down into the floor with the second row of seating sliding and reclining. A loadspace of 1,686 litres is possible with rear seats folded.

The C-Crosser features a split two-piece tailgate which doubles as a bench capable of supporting up to 200kg.

Four-Wheel Drive can be selected for improved stability or Full Lock Mode is available for added assistance in very low grip conditions.

Safety features comprise of six airbags, ABS, EBD and ESP as standard. The C-Crosser has been engineered to ensure a suitable cushion between the panels and the internal structure, allowing them to deform easily on impact.

Citroen UK’s managing director, Xavier Duchemin, commented: “With its friendly face, high levels of practicality and clean, green environmental credentials, the new C-Crosser will add a new dimension to the already diverse Citroen range.

“It will allow Citroen to be represented in an important sector that accounted for some 176,000 UK sales last year, and will ensure that we have a vehicle to suit all our customer needs, whether it be a compact MPV, a supermini, a luxury saloon or, from this July, a SUV.”
