At a time when costs in the UK are constantly on the increase Nissan is bucking the trend by reducing the price of its entire Micra range by up to £1500. With immediate effect the entry level Initia now starts at just £7495 (was £8995). And, this is not a temporary consumer offer either; this is the new on the road price.
Initia reduced by £1500 now starts from £7495 OTR (3 door, 1.2 engine, manual)
Spirita reduced by £1200 now starts from £8795 OTR (3 door, 1.2 engine, manual)
Sport reduced by £750 now starts from £9895 OTR (3 door, 1.2 engine, manual)
Sport SR reduced by £300 now starts from £10695 OTR (3 door, 1.6 engine, manual)
Active Luxury reduced by £300 now starts from £10695 OTR (3 door 1.4 engine, manual)
With such a high cost reduction amounting to up to 16.7% off it would be normal to expect the specifications list to have been given the scissor treatment, but not in this case. All equipment levels on all grades remain untouched.
Initia still comes complete with driver, passenger and side airbags (passenger side can be de-activated), active front headrests, ABS with Brake assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorage points, central locking with anti-hijack feature, front electric windows, full body coloured front and rear bumpers, rear sliding seat that can split 60:40, front electric windows and a friendly lighting system along with battery save to help prevent the battery from going low on charge.
£1300 extra gets the Spirita (£8795) which includes air conditioning with pollen filter, an integrated drive computer, a leather steering wheel with easy to use control buttons for the audio and computer, front map reading lights, driver’s seat height and lumbar adjustment, under-seat seat storage, an A4 sized slide out tray from the already large glovebox, electric door mirrors which are body coloured along with the door handles and a 6 speaker CD audio system.
Sport is a further £1100 (£9895) which provides sports styled seats and bumpers, 16” alloy wheels, body coloured roof and side spoilers, front fog lamps, restyled gear lever and aluminium look pedals (manual only), dark tinted headlamps and a dashboard integrated 6 stack CD auto-changer audio system.
Sport SR (£10695) with climate control air conditioning, auto lighting, rain sensing wipers, ESP and exhaust tail pipe finisher is £800 more than the Sport.
Active Luxury continues to be the same price as the Sport SR but comes with leather and heated front seats plus free metallic paint in lieu of the exhaust tail pipe finisher, aluminium look pedals, sports gear lever and dark tinted headlamps.
These new prices were introduced from 1 April 2007, but this is definitely no joke!
