New Caterham Superlight R400

Catherham has launched the Superlight R400 racing car as the latest iteration of its classic sports car range.
Fifty years on from the first Caterham Seven, the R400 comes with a Ford-sourced 2-litre Duratec engine tuned by Caterham that delivers 210bhp and a top speed of 140mph.
0-60mph is cleared in 3.8 seconds and the all-alloy unit produces peak torque of 152lb. ft at 5,750rpm through a six-speed manual box.
Increased rigidity of 12% with no weight penalty and reduced flex improves grip and feedback is accurately transmitted through steering and suspension. The new R400 sits on 15” alloys and bespoke Avon CR500 tyres.
Composite bucket race seats as standard, as are a carbon-fibre dash, Momo quick-release steering wheel.
Available now, the R400 starts at £25,995.
