The new Alfa 159 Sportswagon has just gone on sale in the UK along with 260bhp V6 Q4 versions of the hot new Alfa Brera, Alfa 159 and 159.
A sporting estate in the best Alfa Romeo tradition, the 159 Sportswagon has been designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, and combines estate car qualities of practicality with state-of-the-art engineering, outstanding performance and handling characteristics that you would expect from one of the world´s most famous sports car makers.
The 159 Sportswagon shares its platform with the Alfa159 saloon, which has recently been awarded a 5 star safety rating from Euro NCAP, which goes hand in hand with the four stars it was given for child occupant protection.
You can choose your powerplant carefully - there are 5 engines available starting with three petrol:- 1.9-litre 160bhp, 2.2-litre 185bhp, and 3.2-litre 260bho V6 - and two diesel - : a 1.9 litre 16 valve 150bhp 4-cylinder unit, and a 2.4 litre 20 valve 200bhp 5-cylinder powerplant. Prices range from £21,095 for the JTS Turismo to £29,350 for the JTS Q4 Lusso, with a total of 7 versions to choose from in two differing trim levels - the Turismo and Lusso.
The Turismo models include: leather steering wheel and gearknob, cruise control, ABS with EBD and HBA, 16" alloy wheels and remote central locking with alarm and immobiliser. The Lusso incorporates the features of the Turismo and adds to them with leather interior trim, visibility pack, rear parking sensors, aluminium centre console and trim inserts, stainless steel kick plates and swaps the 16" alloy wheels for 17"
